My brilliant thought for the day thanks to a post from Liz over at One-Twenty-Five: I am quite sure that success first starts in our minds when we believe we can. So…BELIEVE!
How often do we tell ourselves we can’t. We aren’t able. When really the truth is that we can, but that we won’t. Why? Because we’re afraid. Afraid to fail. Afraid to be wrong. Afraid to be right. Afraid to shine. Afraid of who we really can be if we just believe in ourselves right in this moment. And in the next. And the next.

I think I am addicted to your pretty things. The places. The beauty. The seduction and allure of all your many-wondered opportunities. When I see the pretty red script of your name, I want to click on it
…to see where else it takes me. Where you lead me. Places yet still unexplored. I love that the more things I find within your infrastructure, the more you offer me in the way of other things I might like. First, it was Google, then Facebook, now…YOU! Oh, Pinterest, how you draw me in with all your mystery and things still unknown to me. Will I ever have my fill?!
Come, follow me. See where it’s taking me now.
For what it’s worth: it’s never too late or, in my case, too early to be whoever you want to be. There’s no time limit, stop whenever you want. You can change or stay the same, there are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. And I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things you never felt before. I hope you meet people with a different point of view. I hope you live a life you’re proud of. If you find that you’re not, I hope you have the strength to start all over again.

We’ve all been hurt before. We carry those scars around with us. All at different states of healing or still so raw. Only we can choose how we let that hurt define or refine us!

The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, the education, the money, than circumstances, than failure, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company… a church… a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past… we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude. I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% of how I react to it. And so it is with you… we are in charge of our Attitudes.

Being a mid-twenties, lifelong Christian is a funny thing. We’ve waded through the weak theology and emotional highs of youth groups. We’ve forged and fought our way through college, which stretched and tested and renewed our faith in both spiritual and academic ways.
